Short Bio

Lorenzo Tomasetti is currently a Ph.D. student in Operations Research at the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Brescia, Italy. His Ph.D. is mainly focused on the optimization of production processes for the steelmaking sector, with particular attention to energy management. In February 2023 he achieved a Master's Degree in Computer Science Engineering at the University of Brescia, Italy, with a thesis titled 'A Branch-Price-and-Cut approach for the two-dimensional circular packing problem'. While working on his Master's Thesis, he spent four months at the Interuniversity Research Center on Enterprise Networks, Logistics and Transportation (CIRRELT) at Université Laval in Quebec, Canada.
